let's get cooking...and eating!

I have an unhealthy love for Indian food. If curry is involved sign me up. Fast. Husband does not understand my obsession, I mean he appreciates a good curry and all but not like I do. Tonight I made a curry of my own. First time!! It turned out pretty good if I say so myself. My naan left something to be desired so if you have a good naan recipe let me know. Super tasty. I hope to try to make a tikka masala soon. I love a good tikka masala. I love one in particular from a place we have here in Santiago. I am frustrated by the naan but I guess my only option is have husband build me a tandoori oven, obviously ;)
While here in Santiago I hope to master (I use the term master loosely) Indian food and Peruvian food. I love Peruvian food too and my best Chile buddy and I ate at a great place last night and had ceviche, duh, arroz chaufa and causas. She shares my love of good ceviche. I am going to research chaufa recipes and report back. I have a recipe for ceviche but I have yet to give it a go. I had amazing ceviche last week while we were in Easter Island. It was different than the Peruvian ceviche I have had here in Stgo. It was made with locally caught tuna and was almost sweet with fresh ginger. It was awesome. I will also look to be recreating that.

hello, hello

Let's get acquainted with each other. I am currently living abroad (I don't really understand the term expat in this modern, international world we live in, but I guess thats what we are, expats) and experimenting in food and wine. I am a self proclaimed white wine lover. Then we moved to Chile. Now I am a red fan. Big time. Particulary carmenere.  I am also a huge fan of cooking and eating in general. Thankfully for my waist line I am also a running enthusiast. I hope to use this blog as a way to share recipes, favorite wines and new discoveries in food during my international adventure. Welcome :)
